Next to Duomo di Milano is the equally stunning Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
Designed in 1861, and built by Giuseppe Mengoni until 1877, it is named after Italy's first king Vittorio Emanuele II. Today, the Galleria is one of the world's oldest shopping malls.
I was in awe with the grandness of its facade. My jaw continued to drop as I went through the structure which consists of two glass-vaulted arcades. And I totally lost it when I looked up and saw their roof - one beautiful piece of art.
Housing some of the world's biggest and most expensive brands, the Galleria is not just any shopping mall. Definitely not like what we normally have in Asia. Its strong heritage combined with its beautiful architecture definitely elevate the whole shopping experience.
