The Maldives has always been in my must-do places.

And being one of the most picturesque spots, I daydream it to be a romantic place to share with my lover. Take romantic strolls along the flawless shorelines. Share playful moments with the sun dancing across the waters. Fall in love over and over again.

But as my life is all about grabbing every chance to explore the could I say no when one of my best friends spontaneously asked me to go to The Maldives for my birthday?

Within 12 hours after he invited me, we booked our tickets and hotel. Oh, and of course, got E's stamp of approval that I can go on a non-honeymoon trip with Deo to The Maldives!

Lounging before taking our flight to paradise. Thank God there are finally direct flights

from Singapore which would only take us four hours.

In the past, one has to make a stop-over in Colombo or Bagkok.

This baby picked us up right outside the Male International Aiport and ferried us to Velassaru

for 30 minutes. Other resorts are farther, and guests may need to take a seaplane.

On our way to the resort, we had a glimpse of other resorts. The ocean grass huts that

The Maldives is famous for is a resort staple!

The villas up close!

The island is big, and it could be too hot to these buggies are pretty convenient!

This little buddy intensely guards his turf - day in and day out!

Peaceful mornings are definitely a treat from the usual city chaos.

All fresh for breakfast. Starting the day early at 7AM!

The staff and their cart blend in the picturesque island.

The Maldives is pretty popular for photo shoots and weddings. No surprise!

A tropical paradise.

The crystal-clear torquoise waters are just amazing!

 Am home! :))
